Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth
the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for
the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a
corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that
beateth the air:
But
I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any
means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
(1 Cor 9:24-25, 27 KJV)
The RACE Program is
a twelve-month residential program for people with life controlling
problems– chemical addiction, criminal history, and behavioral
dysfunctions. The program consists of two phases, each lasting
approximately six months.
PHASE 1–Main
Focus
• Spirituality
-
Residents receive training and direction, facing problem areas and
issues, as well as becoming familiar with the program and the staff.
After the initial experience, we begin to rebuild that which has been
torn down – i.e. values, hope, incentive, ambition, desire,
confidence, self-discipline, character and attitudes toward authority.
• Well Being – A considerable amount of time is
spent dealing with areas of bitterness and grievances caused by past
hurts from life experiences, parents, etc. We will teach the resident
to set healthy boundaries for his life. We will instill the fact that
actions produce results and consequences.
• Discipline – Our main goal is to provide a safe
environment that promotes spiritual growth through our Lord Jesus
Christ. CareCenter Ministries, like any other facility, has its own
set of rules and regulations to which residents must adhere. We also
understand this requires certain degrees of discipline.
PHASE
II–Continued Enrichment
Phase II will continue the main focus of Phase I,
meanwhile, we feel at this level residents have instilled some
principles and guidelines for themselves that will allow them to
handle making good decisions. This phase duration is also 6 months,
pending Pastor’s approval. Some additional responsibilities, which
they will be held accountable for, but not limited to include:
• Employment
• Money Management
• Time Management
• Relationships
These principles are going to be the only thing that will
save the resident from himself and allow him to live free from the
bondage of this world once the program is completed.
Do not be deceived: “Bad company
corrupts good habits” (I Corinthians.
15:33)
